that area is one I'm familiar with , cuttlefish numbers are in decline .. he most recent survey/count I'm aware of said the numbers were down 80% . at one time you could barely move for the cuttlefish .

When we were kids, we used to find heaps of bits of cuttlefish washed up along the beaches,I haven't seen any for a very long time.We used to collect some and take them home for the pet budgies,to sharpen their beaks on

Now I know it's the one purpose in the cuttlefish life, to leave his only bone for the budgies.
