I was listening to The Country Hour on ABC radio yesterday and heard a guy speaking about the fish kills in the Darling.
He was saying that part of the problem is caused by the depletion of the turtle population because of foxes. Apparently the turtles are scavenger feeders who clean up the system which therefore decreases the algae bloom frequency.
