i can't remember if there are any AHS fans here, but the new season starts 2 weeks from today, it's called 1984, and based on the slasher movies that were rampant in the 80's. can't wait!

was it as good as the first one, duffy? that one was a riot! so, the first three episodes of AHS 1984 have been fabulous! funny as all get out, and it's a blast to play" name that movie" when they give the nod to them. emma roberts and billie lourd are such great actresses, and they play 80's babes SO well!

I haven't seen it yet Sin.
Might watch that or the Breaking Bad movie over the weekend.
I luv Emma Roberts too. Not sure about the other girl you mentioned, I googled but her face isn't familiar.

she's carrie fisher's daughter, granddaughter of debbie reynolds. she and emma were the stars of scream queens, another series i think you'd like, it's hilarious!

Piper?
I like her.
I watched a lot of it Sin but didn't finish it, and haven't seen the Apocalpse season yet.
The BB movie was good, was good to see some familiar faces.

that's something on my winter binge list, since everyone raves about breaking bad. i'm not sure i'll like it. piper? you mean pepper? that was naomi grossman, i think, billie's first role was winter, and linda, i think was the manson character,in the cult season, then mallory in apocalypse. montana this season.

I thought you meant Billie Piper lol.
BB is a great show. Doesnt matter if you're not into druggie time shows, you will still luv it.
Like you don't have to like bikies to get into Sons of Anarchy.

This not a recommendation but a warning of sorts.
A couple of days ago my tv content streaming provider presented "The Nightingale" as one of their movie picks.
Ok, it looked to me like it was going to be a kinda Jennifer Lawrence Hunger Game film. NOT.
I just can't shake it. It was character driven, up close and personal, a horror story and brutally violent. At the same time it is a story of human bonding and dignity.
It was hard to watch yet I did....all two hours. With several breaks of the pause button.
The story is set in colonial Tasmania in 1825. It is haunting.

Barri, it is definitely not camp like most zombie and other horror movie genre. Those I don't ever watch.
Though the characters are fictional (I think) it had the feel of historical truth....like a Michener historical novel. It echos the conditions of early settlement here as well. It pulled no punches in telling the story.
It's my opinion, but I read that over 30 people walked out of a Sydney theater at it's showing.

i've been asking around about it and reading reviews, other people say the same thing about it feeling true, and that's why it terrified them. i've got a few of those on my" watched with pauses" list too, and a few i just ... couldn't get through it because it was too " true", like se7ven. BTK was still at large when that came out, my city was still in terror, i couldn't handle it. still can't watch it even now.

we watched a movie called "The Irishman" on Netflix last night... it was a bit slow at the start but Al Pacino is such a good actor.. he really brings a character to life.
it was about the mafia, the unions and the kennedys

YO DUFFY! this reco is mostly for her, since most of y'all don't like any kind of " scary" movie.... SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK what a FABULOUS movie! totally old school, almost NO gore, REAL effects, NO CGI, and a truly original plot! PLUS am intrepid young heroine who is NOT an underwear model& never will be, AND she wears///GASP!///GLASSES!!! seriously, this is SO GOOD, you have to see it. it's so good, i'm asking santa for a dvd copy, and i'm picky now, with limited extra shelf space. WATCH THIS MOVIE!

Miss you Duffy!

I haven't been to a cinema for yonks, but I'm definitely going to see The Dry when it comes to Bunbury. I loved the book and it's the kind of story that would lend itself well to film.

We watched Rebecca for the second time last night. We had both forgotten we had seen it before until about half way in 😂
I went with the grandies to see The Croods, A New Age. It was hilarious 🤣 I was still giggling a couple of hours later. We have a lovely old Art Deco cinema here. It’s beautiful, but not all that comfortable for the bum 😉

We watched two Movies on Netflix last night, both really good.
Death to 2020 very black humour and might be a bit too soon for some, but I giggled. [bonus - I think the ”Soccer Mom” may be corpsie
On the Basis of Sex a story of RBGs early career and start in the law. Very interesting and inspiring and sad considering where we are now

On your advice deb we watched The Good Liar last night. It was really good, except that himself got annoyed with me because I guessed the first big twist before it happened and I suspected the main one all the way through.
What’s next to watch? I’ve put The Green Book on my list already
