I'm a Celebrity started tonight. Two of my guesses were right so far. Pete Rowsthorn and Fiona O'Loughlin. Obviously Pete because his voice has been used in the ad for months. I was scared that the tennis player would be Pat Cash (ick) but instead it's Bernard Tomic! That's a surprise. There's also the obligatory AFL player and already I've forgotten his name but he seems to be some kind of a hero and a couple of models.
Shannon Noll? Wasn't expecting that but I'm not a fan so hopefully he will change my mind.
Three more to go.

I don't watch it because I can't stand all the creepy crawlies and horible things they do.. but interesting to hear who's in it

Fiona is really funny. Its good to watch when there is some humour. They have already given Tomic the third degree. My guess, he will opt out when he gets uncomfortable.
I am taping MKR and with OH will watch Britannia at 8.30pm (Deb, you would hate it as it is very gory) then will watch the rest of IAC. When I will get to watch MKR is another matter :)

I don't really do reality tv. Though I have watched most of both Celebritys. Joel and Chrissie were so funny in the first one.

I loved Joel. I'm not sure about this mob yet but Fiona is hilariously funny so I've already picked her as the winner. Her and Pete Rowsthorn.

Prim, I feel so sorry for Tomic. I don't watch tennis often so I know that you would have a different feeling about his quitting but to me he just looks like he's in such a terrible head space. I think he needs help.
In a way I'm glad he left because it seemed like he was really lowering the mood of all the others, especially after only a day in the jungle. Last night the mood had really lifted and they had lots of laughs.

I always worry about those who have too much fame and too much money at too young an age. They are usually too immature [due to their age] to cope with it.

I feel sorry for Tomic too. he strikes me as a bit of a lost soul, and he is still very young to be copping the kind of hammering he gets. Society can be very cruel to young celebs. It builds them up to ridiculous heights, puts unrealistic expectations on them and then turns on them the moment their halo slips.

I will preface my post by saying I have no direct knowledge of his circumstances, only what I have seen of him and heard from his mouth over many years.
I haven't noticed any unrealistic expectations or building up of great heights Penny. Sure some commentators said he could be No. 1 but that has been said of every young aussie who can manage to get a ball over the net. I have only seen him do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. The public have not been mean to him that I have ever read or seen. They have been critical of his flippancy with words.
I don't believe him when he says he has no friends as there have been many photos of him in his car and outside his home relaxing here in Aus. with what certainly looks like friends. He claims lonely but he was given lots of attention and friendship when part of the Davis Cup team.
He said all he has ever done is play tennis and it is lonely on tour but over the past few years he has hardly played and when he did he was out in the first round. He also said he didn't practice so, if he wasn't practicing and wasn't playing, then he wasn't spending all his time on tennis. I think he bends the truth.
Yes, I have a heart but I just don't believe his words. Yes, I think he has a problem but I don't believe its what he said it was. Though now with the criticism, he might get depressed.

The definition of celebrity has changed so much through the years. Omorosa (spelling?) is going to be on celebrity big brother. She is not a celebrity. Bob Hope was a celebrity.
And then you got "celebraty" which I assume is a famous person with a poor disposition (bratty lol).

OMG I remember Omarosa, she was so rude and arrogant. She doesn't stay around when things get tough either LOL

I think I love tv so much because it lets my brain rest and think about unimportant things. Same reason I like the biff on dhs... lol...
A problem I do run into is that my brain often can't rest at all, and I have to watch a show again because I can't remember what happened.

She went slightly bonkers and was talking to her dead mother. She stalked Steffie because it was her mother that killed Aly's mother in the car accident.
She tried to attack Steffie one night with a tyre iron and Steffie fought back and grabbed the tyre iron and hit her with it when Aly picked up a rock and was trying to kill Steffie. Instead, Aly was the one that died and then yada yada yada drama drama.
