I decided I was going to start knitting a Christmas blanket like the blanket I did for our upcoming grand daughter.
I am about half way through............and my hands and wrists hurt from doing so much.
Our middle grand daughter is having a birthday this week......and her party is this weekend.
She wants to do a movie one.........they are watching "Trolls"
I have her list of things she wants me to make.................she wants cupcakes that look like icecreams.
I have never cooked them in icecream cones before.
She is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited.
Deb and Joono...............shows how long we have been friends............I remember telling you both when she was born.

I remember it well Flashie. Good luck with the cupcakes. If all else fails, make them just in muffin tins and ice them to the cone afterwards. I'm obviously not an expert as I've never made a birthday cake in my life.

Well the first ones I tried to make resembled Figlet's picture to a "T"
If the tiniest bit of the cake goes over the top of the cone while it is cooking it makes the cone go all soggy.
So I am sticking to just making her cupcakes.
I don't have enough time to try anything else new and risk it not working again.
Bugger!

Is it possible to cut the cake after it's been baked into a "ball"ish shape, stuff it inside a cone and then frost it?
|

|
Post by dawn on Aug 4, 2018 9:11:38 GMT
Hope that made sense.... I think I should have said cut the cake into balls... when I reread it, it seemed like a meant stuff an entire cake into a cone ๐.
Cupcakes would work, too, just whittle off some of the "stem" part.

That's what I think too Dawn. You can still make it happen Flashie. Fake it and fix it with lots of icing . Did I mention I've never cooked a birthday cake or even a cupcake?
